Club DJ, Radio DJ, Producer, Remixer, founder, owner, A&R and Label Manager of his own labels SUTIL RECORDS and SUTIL VOX… DAVID GAUSA, born in 70’s in Barcelona, is one of the few privileged who made his passion his very way of life. A dream that didn’t come true right away, but it took big doses of consistency, firmness and respect for Music.

If at 14 he won his first contest after remixing the classic 'Dub Be Good To Me' by BEATS INTERNATIONAL, the latest awards and nominations DAVID GAUSA has gotten acknowledge his good deeds through the waves: IBIZA DEEJAY AWARD (2001) and honoured DEEJAYMAG 2001 (Spanish Deejay Magazine) for his direct responsibility for spreading Clubber Sound through the waves; in DJ booth, he was NOMINATED AS THE BEST DEEJAY HOUSE and BEST DEEJAY IN SPAIN on various occasions; and for his discographical work on top of SUTIL RECORDS, he got the DEEJAYMAG 2005 to the best BREAKTHROUGH LABEL and also in 2006 he got the best BREAKTHROUGH LABEL (SGAE AWARD) for SUTIL VOX, both voted by the industry of this sector in Spain.

Since January 2007, DAVID GAUSA produces the Radio Show SUTIL SENSATIONS at LOCA FM, the num#1 Dance Radio Station produced by international Top Deejays born in Spain, mixing quality music and innovation with credibility. Exploring the whole GLOBAL CLUB VISION: PROGRESSIVE, ELECTRO, TECH, TRIBAL, DEEP&SOULFUL HOUSE, not forgetting the MINIMAL, TECHNO, BREAKS, TRANCE and ELECTRONIC MUSIC in general. In a short period on the air, SUTIL SENSATIONS turned a basic on the specialized Spanish Radio programmes.

More than 15 years in the profession, sessions in national and international Clubs, a long list of edited productions (by SONDOS-SUBLIMINAL RECORDS/USA, among others), Remixes and compilations (AMNESIA IBIZA, TECHNICS or SELECCION BASICA saga, and a lot more)… There’s an endless list of reasons for DAVID GAUSA to be one of the most respected figures within Spanish Clubber scenario and to be acknowledged in crescendo in the international atmosphere.

In 1991, he starts his career as a Dj in Sitges (Barcelona).
Between 1993 and 1999 he moves on to FIBRA OPTICA Club in Barcelona, undoubtedly, the best Club in Barcelona of the 90’s. During this stage and between 1996 and 2001, he also does some summer performances at L’ATLANTIDA Club in Sitges (Barcelona).
Between 1998 and 1999, he also combines all these with working at AMNESIA IBIZA Club, his weekly residence. Between 2000 and 2001 he becomes current guest in such club.
DAVID GAUSA has also been a resident in the promoting group MATINEE GROUP (Barcelona) when debuted in the mythical SPACE IBIZA (summers of 2002 and 2003).

In September 2003, he’s responsible for closure of B-PARADE FESTIVAL first celebrated in Barcelona, attended by more than 50.000 people.

In 2002 David is hired by PACHA Club chain to take part in its Dj’s team. Thanks to this link to the group, he is involved in different sessions with several world-wide known promoting groups like SUBLIMINAL RECORDS, MINISTRY OF SOUND, PERFECTO, UNDERWATER, … at the mythical PACHA IBIZA.

In September 2002 he is chosen by PACHA IBIZA’s team to present the fifth edition of IBIZA DEEJAY AWARDS. After handing out the awards, he carries out a set along with ANGEL MORAES and WALLY LOPEZ.
He’s been a monthly resident in PACHA BARCELONA since January 2004.

Ever since he got started, DAVID GAUSA has been to a long list of Clubs and countries like  United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Italy, France, Brasil, Venezuela, Colombia, Russia, Ukraine, Portugal, Greece, Egypt….

When in Canada in 2002, he got on a tour organized by Benson and Hedges / Gold Club Series. As a resident in Ibiza and representing AMNESIA IBIZA Club, he visited 5 different cities and clubs. He also performed with TIMO MAAS on three magical nights, and was the active part of the presentation tour of the album 'Load'.
DAVID GAUSA keeps a special memory of his trip to Montreal (Canada), where he   played at the mythical STEREO club that belongs to his friend and discographic companion ANGEL MORAES. The following year GAUSA was part of the Line Up for third anniversary of the Club.

Throughout these years, he has shared Club and Festivals’ booths with ERIC PRYDZ, KURD MAVERICK, SANDY RIVERA, CHUS&CEBALLOS, JUNIOR JACK, WALLY LOPEZ, Dr.KUCHO!, FRANKIE KNUCKLES, TREVOR ROCKLIFFE, TIM BAKER, MARCO BAILEY, etc… and  just once in the line up of the promoter WE LOVE… SUNDAYS @ SPACE IBIZA of a Spanish Deejay and STEVE LAWLER, GROOVE ARMADA, ARMAND VAN HELDEN and JON CARTER, among others.

DAVID GAUSA has taken part in a lot of important national events like MAD on FLAIX FM (Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona) as a guest in its three editions sharing billboard with ERICK MORILLO, SVEN VÄTH, FRANCESCO FARFA, JOEY NEGRO and ROBBIE RIVERA among others. He also participated on the MINISTRY OF SOUND/BACARDI SPAIN TOUR, as part of the line up in the 2004th edition, and shared Line Up with PAUL VAN DYK, FERRY CORSTEN, JIM MASTERS, ANTOINE CLAMARAN, DJ CHUS, etc; and last but least, he took part in DANCE VALLEY’s NYE’04 in Barcelona with JEFF MILLS, SLAM, TIMO MAAS, TANIA VULCANO, and more…

DAVID GAUSA’s onset as a producer is tightly linked to the Spanish market, though his concept of “market” is a synonym of “global village”.
At 16, he produces his first House song with MONICA GREEN (USA). However it wasn’t until 1995 that he started producing in a professional way.
In 1997, House-immersed, DAVID GAUSA collaborates and produces for different labels like VENDETTA RECORDS [BLANCO Y NEGRO/Spain], TANGA RECORDS [VALE MUSIC/Spain], and the missing TRIBUTE [Ginger Music/Spain]. He also creates his own projects and Remixes.

In 2001 he publishes a first 12” with WEEKEND RECORDS (Madrid), by the name of THE OTHER SIDE. The following single published through this label came out in January 2003 named 'BARCELONA E.P.' This E.P. included the track called 'WHERE´S MY B.F.?' which was Radio supported by the prestigious BBC1 Radio Dj PETE TONG. Later on, he was included in ESSENTIAL SELECTION COMPILATION mixed by Pete Tong [2003, Trust The Dj/UK].

During the winter of 2002, GAUSA works with ANGEL MORAES, and they both produce the track 'ELECTRIC' under the name of TRANSATLANTIC project. It was the first time a mythical Dj of New York had co-produced a House track with a Spanish Dj. The Spanish label CASSAGRANDE CLUB [Metropol Records/Spain] had it licensed for the rest of Europe.

In 2002 GAUSA also remixed 'I’M COMING TO LONDON' for WALLY LOPEZ, edited through Wally’s own label [The Factoria].

DAVID GAUSA’s productions head the charts of the most prestigious Dj´s and so can they be found in the catalogues of several of the most important record labels in the world. e.g.: 'AMERICAN XS', published by SONDOS from ERICK MORILLO’s SUBLIMINAL RECORDS family; 'ARE YOU BUSY?' edited through HYPNOTIC MUSIC (French label owned by SUPERFUNK’s FAFA MONTECO); 'THE VIBE OF THE IBERICAN BEATS', first track of IBERICAN RECORDINGS from STEREO PRODUCTIONS (Madrid) (Spain’s most important Spanish House producers CHUS & CEBALLOS).

During his career, DAVID GAUSA has also worked on different compilations by remixing sessions for AMNESIA IBIZA, L’ATLANTIDA, TECHNICS, FLAIX FM, etc. 'SELECCION BASICA' saga is worth mentioning too.
His first edition [2002 Tanga Records-Vale Music/Spain] was remixed by ANGEL MORAES and himself and later on  he  carried out 'SELECCION BASICA Vol 02' [2003 Tanga Records-Vale Music/Spain] and 'SELECCION BASICA 3' [2004 Tanga Records-Vale Music/Spain], these two with the help of no one. He made each of these compilations his most important CD Mixes.

In 2006, DAVID GAUSA edits the fourth handout of 'SELECCION BASICA' saga through CASSAGRANDE (Spain), again with his very personal and daring touch.

One more of DAVID GAUSA’s exceptional facets is his work as a Remixer. He’s made remixes for international projects like 'DON´T STOP' by world-wide producer JERRY ROPERO aka AVANT GARDE [VOCAL BIZZ/VENDETTA], 'HUMAN NATURE' by SWEET DROP [STRICTLY RHYTHM/VENDETTA] or 'YOU’RE A SUPERSTAR' by LOVE INC [BMG/ Worldwide], or recently for MOUSSA CLARKE´s project feat KATHLEEN FISHER 'LOVE KEY' together with STATIC REVENGER [FREE 2 AIR/FRENETIC/ULTRA].

In the Spanish market, DAVID GAUSA has remixed 'DON’T STOP THE MUSIC' [2004 Vale Music/Spain] by the popular singer ROSA. In 2005, he is chosen to remix the first and second single of the first album by STRAZZ duo. 'WIDESCREAM' and 'WHO DO YOU LOVE?' were two club remixes published by VICIOUS RECORDS in Barcelona and both reached the third position in Single CD’s and 12” Vinyl sales charts all around Spain.

And being the manager of SUTIL RECORDS, his own label (which will be talked about in brief), GAUSA has completed some of the already edited tracks with his own personal remixing style: PAUL JACKSON 'THE NON-STOP', STATIC REVENGER’s 'BREATHLESS', DAN MASSADA 'HERE I GO', SHAMEROCK’s 'BIG MISTAKE' or 'REQUIEM FOR CAMILLE' by ERIC MORIN & NICOLAS DE ANGEL, among others...

It´s since 2003 that DAVID GAUSA has owned his own platforms to publish his new ideas and projects: SUTIL RECORDS, A BRAND-NEW HOUSE LABEL FROM BARCELONA, which also publishes projects by new or renowned artists who always have something in common: the global and subtle way of understanding House Sound. Artists such as PAUL JACKSON, THOMAS PENTON, STATIC REVENGER or DOMINIC PLAZA (SAYES); well-known Spanish producers like DAVID TORT, GABI NEWMAN, DAVID FERRERO, DAN MASSADA or CARLOS LEGAZ (Remixer of DEEP DISH), and innovative projects like SHAMEROCK formed by DJ SPIDER (YOSHITOSHI’s artist) and Kike Gonzalez, and many more...

Indeed, some Dj’s like DAVID GUETTA, PETE TONG, JAMES ZABIELA, DANNY TENAGLIA, DEEP DISH, JOHN DIGWEED, SASHA, ROGER SANCHEZ, MARK KNIGHT, STEVE LAWLER, GROOVE ARMADA, TOM NOVY, TOM STEPHAN, PAUL VAN DYK, PETER GELDERBLOM, THOMAS GOLD, FRANCESCO FARFA and many more, have supported the tracks of this label.

On January 2006, DAVID GAUSA won a prize from DEEJAYMAG 2005 for the best BREAKTHROUGH LABEL for its work at the head of SUTIL RECORDS, and not enough with this on February 2006 got this same award (HOSTED BY SGAE) for its work heading SUTIL VOX, which shows the massive spirit (Club House) of SUTIL RECORDS.  

Now that SUTIL RECORDS and SUTIL VOX continue going around the world, this label has shot high at an exclusive design online store which is getting a bunch of positive opinions from the industry and public: WWW.SUTILCOFFEESHOP.COM. Top it off, one more label has just seen the light, SUTIL VOX, which shows THE MASSIVE SPIRIT SUTIL RECORDS.

His upward trajectory sort of showed that he should get even more involved in a kind of communicative and musical adventure. If at 14, he made his first debut on local Spanish radio waves, it wasn’t until 1999 that he worked with Xavier Jaso at FLAIX FM, undoubtedly the most important Spanish radio chain, for the co-production and co-presentation of Club SWING FLAIX, the club tendencies radio program. For this job, they won the IBIZA DEEJAY AWARDS (2001) and an honoured DEEJAYMAGS (2001) by the Spanish magazine DEEJAY.

After that adventure and during three seasons directed and presented its own radio broadcasting show, 'SELECCIO BASICA', which came together with the 2xCD format saga, a guarantee of his course, reviews and ratings in Catalonia. Radio show nominated on several occasions by the Spanish publication DEEJAY MAGAZINE.

On January 2007, due to his interest to expand his Clubbing vision through the waves to all the peninsula (not only in Catalonia), signs for LOCA FM, the dance radio num#1 produced by international Top Deejays born in Spain. Just to start a Radio broadcasting adventure called: SUTIL SENSATIONS, an audible area specialized on incandescent up-to date music facing  the  Clubs all over the globe : news, Seleccion Basica (The Club-Chart’s show), diary, events, interviews and Top Deejays and own resident sessions.       

SUTIL SENSATIONS combines musical quality and innovation with credibility, exploring all the 
GLOBAL CLUB VISION: PROGRESSIVE, ELECTRO, TECH, TRIBAL, DEEP&SOULFUL
HOUSE, also including: MINIMAL, TECHNO, BREAKS, TRANCE and all kind of ELECTRONIC MUSIC.

On the air only a short time ago, SUTIL SENSATIONS turns on a basic of the Spanish radio broadcasting programmes schedule.
